Privacy Policy

Users are granted access to this site by using their Facebook username and password to identify themselves. The only user information recorded by this site is the user's unique Facebook id number. Each user's real name and photograph are retrieved with each page request from Facebook's publicly available pages. A user's further privacy will thus be dependent on the privacy settings of their Facebook profile.

For example, John Smith logs into this site using his Facebook username and password and he submits a translation of a paragraph. This site records the translation as submitted by someone with the unique Facebook id of 123456789. The translation history of this paragraph will show a small profile picture of John that points to <img src='http://graph.facebook.com/123456789/picture' />. If John sets his Facebook privacy settings to only allow his friends to see his profile picture and no one else, then when a friend logs into the site, this code will make his real-time profile picture appear. All others will see a profile picture as handled by Facebook. Names are similarly handled. We keep associate your Facebook ID with each translation that you submit in order to acknowledge your contribution and to allow others to contact you about your translation.

You may email admin@ldstranslations.org to have your personal data deleted from this site. This will remove your name and Facebook ID from all of your translations and they will instead have been deleted by "Anonymous". Thus no one will know that you contributed the translation and no one will be able to contact you about it.
